Benetton offers casual wear for both Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter season combinations in India. The retail outlets of Benetton have been using a software developed in-house. Considering the need for continuous change and keeping pace with changes in technology, the IT department of Benetton decided to go for an outsourced product. |
At the same time, information feed-back from retailing operation was considered imperetive by the marketing department at HO. Mr Mukund, Manager - Marketing, one of the decision makers was quite clear from the beginning that the choice will have to be beneficial considering both the retailing as well as the enterprise level needs.

The VAluepro Option Various options including getting the solution developed afresh were considered. After initial demos of the VAlueCenterpro and VAlueShopprocraps regeln and a few phone calls to some of the existing users of SHOPER, the DOS-based predecessor of the decision was taken to partner with VA. Mr. Shoaib Ahmed, Director - Marketing and Mr Mukund today signed a MOU based on which the Benetton Retail Outlets totalling around 65 in India will switch over to VAlueShoppro over the next three to six months. |
