This woman is truly amazing. I encourage everyone, conservative, liberal, democrat, republican, green, and libertarians, to read her blog. She is a passionate, intellegent poet who writes beautifully about the situation on the ground in Bagdad. You may not agree with what she says, but I'll take the word of someone who lives in that hell we have created over Bush's fantasy Iraq any day of the week.
I was listening to Rumsfield the other day saying that "4/5ths of the country is fine..." and implying that the media focus too much on Bagdad and the famous Sunni Triangle. This is a remarkable comment. I live in Indiana. Imagine if all of Indiana was peaceful and democratic, but the greater Indianapolis area was plagued by violence, looting, bombings, kidnappings, rape, beheadings, sporatic electricity, and sewage running in the streets. I think most would say "INDIANA (not just Indianapolis) IS A MESS!" Yo, Rummy, 4/5ths doesn't count. IRAQ IS A MESS! Face it, you and your cabel of neo-conservative wackos made the most significant foreign policy blunder since Hitler invaded Poland. Now, Bush is not a racist like Hitler. My point is that blind, ideological fanaticism, whether coming from a white-supremist nazi, a godless communist, a radical muslum, or a fanatical neo-con can produce equally disasterous results.
