How does it work?

Bidding for the finest vacation packages available is easy with Bid4Vacations.com. First, you must register to bid. Then, browse through our vacation packages to find your desired destination. Click the BID ON THIS ITEM link to place your bid. You will be asked to enter your username and password. Enter and verify all the required billing information. You will be given a Bid Confirmation. If the information you see is correct, click to Agree & Confirm the bid. Bid4Vacations.com will keep you updated via email of the status of your bid. Once the auction closes, if you are the winner, and we receive authorization of your credit card, you will receive email notification within 24 hours. If after browsing through our vacation packages, you don't see what you're looking for, check back. Our inventory is constantly growing and changing.

Is it okay to enter my credit card number?

When you register to bid, we will ask for all of your account information including contact information and billing information. When you're ready to place a bid, you will be asked to verify that your billing information is correct for that transaction. During these processes, your credit card number will not be visible or ever made available to anyone else. We use VeriSign Secure Server (SSL) technology for your protection. Does it cost anything to bid?

No. Registering and bidding are free. If you are the winning bidder, your credit card will be charged and you will be sent email notification within 24 hours of the close of auction. Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions prior to bidding on an auction.

Are there any extra charges in addition to the winning bid price?

Some packages may include other charges such as port charges or hotel taxes. You will find these listed in the "Taxes and Other Fees" section on each auction page. Additionally, Bid4Vacations.com applies US$14 booking fee per vacation package.

If I register as a user, am I going to get a lot of solicitations and phone calls?

No. Registered users may receive our Weekly eNewsletter containing new auction items coming up for bid at Bid4Vacations.com, as well as useful information regarding the site. If you decide you would no longer like to receive these informative newsletters, simply go to the My Account section of our site and select not to receive the newsletter. Can I change or cancel a bid after I place it?

No. After filling in the required bid and billing information, you will have an opportunity to review your bid. If you agree to and confirm the bid, it will be placed and cannot be changed or cancelled. By agreeing to and confirming a bid, you signify your intention and ability to buy the item at any price up to and including your bid amount. Placing a fraudulent bid is not permitted and may be legally actionable. Individuals who bid on an item and then back out of the purchase may be barred from future use of the site, at Bid4Vacations.com's sole discretion.

If someone outbids me, can I bid again?

Yes. Bid4Vacations.com will send you email notification if you are outbid. To place a higher bid, simply follow the same steps you took when placing your initial bid. If you would like Bid4Vacations.com to automatically place higher bids for you, up to a preset dollar amount, try using our Autobid feature.

What is Autobid?

When you select the Autobid feature, Bid4Vacations.com will automatically place incremental bids for you, up to a maximum bid amount that you select. You get the convenience of "hands-free" bidding, and the security of knowing that you'll never pay more than you want for the vacation of your dreams!

Yes. By using our Autobid feature, you can have Bid4Vacations.com place incremental bids for you, up to the maximum bid amount you select.

How do I know if I have won an auction?

Winning bidders are notified via email within 24 hours of the close of auction (barring any unforeseen difficulties), upon successful authorization of their credit card . If the winning bidder's credit card is not approved, Bid4Vacations.com reserves the right to award the vacation to the next highest bidder.

What happens after I win an auction?

Winning bidders are notified via email within 24 hours of the close of auction (barring any unforeseen difficulties), upon successful authorization of their credit card. Your winning bid notification email will include information about the Auction you won as well as information about the charge to your credit card. You will then be contacted by a Leisure Travel Consultant (LTC) who will assist you in finalizing your vacation plans.

I bid higher than the current high bidder. Why isn't my bid winning?

The most likely explanation for this is that the current high bidder had their Autobid feature set. This means that when they initially placed their bid, they told the Auction to automatically increase their bid by the bid increment up to some maximum specified amount. If the bid you placed was lower than their maximum bid amount for Autobid, the Auction would have processed their bid and placed a bid for them that would either match or beat your bid. In order to beat this person's bid, you must bid higher than their maximum bid amount for Autobid. The best way to do this is to set your own Autobid for the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the Auction. Then both of your Autobids will process and whomever is willing to pay more for the Auction will win. Please note - the final amount of the Autobid user's bid is some number of bid increments above their initial bid. Therefore, their winning bid may be for the same dollar amount as your bid, but because they placed their initial bid before you, they have precedence and will win.

In the Bid History table, it shows that someone placed a bid at the same time as me, for the same dollar amount, and their bid won. Why isn't my bid winning?

The bidder who beat you had their Autobid feature set. This means that when they initially placed their bid, they told the Auction to automatically increase their bid by the bid increment up to some maximum specified amount. The bid you placed was lower than their maximum bid amount for Autobid, so the Auction processed their bid and placed a bid for them that would beat your bid. The next question is, why can they beat you with a bid for the SAME dollar amount as your bid. This is because they placed their initial bid before you, so even if your bids are for the same dollar amount, they have time precedence over you and will win. In order to beat this person's bid, you must bid higher than their maximum bid amount for Autobid. The best way to do this is to set your own Autobid for the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the Auction. Then both of your Autobids will process and whomever is willing to pay more for the Auction will win.

I received an email telling me that I had been outbid. Then I received another telling me that I was winning again. Why is my bid winning again?

This situation can occur when a bidder chooses to accept full quantity only. Let's look at an example. There are 3 packages available and you bid for 2 for $10 each and are willing to accept a partial quantity (just one package instead of 2). Then Joe comes along and bids for 3 for $15 each, but is only willing to accept full quantity. You then lose your 2 packages at $10 each and the Auction sends you an email telling you that you have been outbid. Now Joe is winning 3 packages at $15 each. Now Vivian enters the Auction and bids for 2 packages for $20 each. Because her bid is higher than Joe's she will win. She now has 2 packages at $20 each. If Joe had chosen to accept a partial quantity, he could still have one package at $15. But because he chose to accept full quantity only, he loses all 3 packages. This means there is now one package available again and because you had the last highest bid, you get it back at your bid price of $10. The Auction will now send you an email stating that you are winning again for a partial quantity (one package instead of 2) at $10. It's confusing, but fair.

I placed a bid for a smaller quantity than I really wanted. Can I go back and change my bid, or place another bid for additional quantity?

No, bids cannot be edited once you have confirmed them. This is because once your bid enters the system, it is interacting with many other bids. If we allowed you to change your bid in the middle of the Auction, it could interfere with all the other bids for that Auction, making it impossible for the Auction to determine who should win, who should be outbid, and what quantities each person should have.

We also cannot allow you to have two concurrent bids on any one auction. If you place a bid and then decide that you want a higher quantity, you must think of your original bid as a competing bid that you must outbid. For example, in a live auction, if you placed a bid on an item and then placed another bid, your original bid would be outbid by your new bid. Our Auction functions in the same way.

Why do I have to give up to three dates of travel?

Due to the high demand of our vacations, choosing several dates increases your chances of your vacation confirming. You are under no obligation to purchase the vacation if none of your requested dates are available.

Why isn't my purchase confirmed immediately?

When we receive your requested travel dates, we then check the availability of your dates, which may take up to several days.

Can I make changes?

Usually, vacation providers will allow a change if there is availability. A $50 rebooking fee will be charged to your credit card.
