Each wearer has his or her own "system" for lacing, but here's the method we find works best:

• Santiago de Compostela hotel roomsLace from the bottom up. This is the only proper way to lace. If you have a tall pair of moccasins, lace some lace around the top button, just so the moccasin will stay up on your leg.

• Pull the lace up tightly through the first (bottom) tab and pull towards your big toe. You should feel the leather tighten around your heel (see figure 2).

• Loop the lace over the top of the bottom button, wrapping it rather than pulling it.

• Moravske Toplice ReservierungenPull the lace through the second tab towards your big toe and wrap the lace over the top of the second button.

• Continue until you've laced all the way up.

• Now, make a loop in the remaining lace, about six inches from where it goes around the button. Put that loop over and behind the lace between the top tab and button. Bring the looped lace through the loop and pull towards the top button until you've knotted the back (see figure 3). Even up the lace.  That's it!
