| VTC has been aware of the potential technical and business impacts of the Year 2000 computer problem for a number of years, and we take this issue very seriously. As a result, we have established a Year 2000 committee and instituted a comprehensive Year 2000 strategy, to minimize the exposures to our internal and embedded systems, as well as our critical suppliers and subcontractors. This strategy is intended to put VTC in a position to continue to meet our customers' needs.
The execution of this strategy began in 1997 and is well underway. We have identified a number of our systems as Year 2000 compliant, according to the manufacturers of those systems. VTC has also incorporated a comprehensive review of all technical areas potentially impacted by Y2K related failures and anomalies: hardware, software (applications and systems), EDI, third party services, and infrastructure into our overall Year 2000 strategy.
The results of our review to date indicate that VTC is well positioned to deal with this concern and we do not anticipate major problems in fulfilling our commitments and corporate mission, of providing exceptional professional services and high-tech solutions to our clients. We are on schedule to be Year 2000 prepared before the Year 2000 arrives. However, in the event that problems do occur, VTC is planning for such contingencies to ensure that, any disruption is minimal and VTC's recovery is expeditious and transparent to our customers. For more information, contact our Year 2000 Committee Chairman, Mr. Don Theune at (703) 658-7050. I will be pleased to assist you further. |
